Find Simple Serenity in PURE Eyewear

16 Mar

New partners PURE Eyewear and Legacie teamed together this year to supply all of you with brilliantly designed rimless eyewear. In case you’re not up to speed with PURE Eyewear technology, here’s a rundown that’s sure to fascinate you:

Each frame is crafted from a single strand of wire that is threaded through holes in the lenses. The wire is made of a new material called Xanadium, which is a high-performance alloy that is corrosion and acid resistant. The frame is incredibly lightweight and the design withstands without screws, hinges or compression mounts and sometimes even without nose pads.

Cutting edge technology and contemporary influences collide to create cohesive, futuristic designs in an array of shapes suited for any face.

Mila Kunis Sizzles in Lacoste Shades

11 Mar

Mila Kunis has been on Hollywood overdrive since the release of her critically acclaimed film Black Swan. Besides supporting the endless movie promotions and premieres, the actress has received impressive accolades for her performance as the rival ballerina to Natalie Portman’s character, resulting in a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for best supporting actress.

After months of grueling ballet training, dropping 20 pounds, promoting the film and surviving the stressful award season, it looks like Mila can finally sit back and enjoy the limelight.

She definitely looks vibrant and healthy in oversized Lacoste L110 shades with rosy, gradient lenses by Marchon Eyewear.

All Eyes On Spring 2011 Eyewear Trends

10 Mar

Full of chic shapes, dazzling details and warm colors, eyewear this spring is making a statement. From geek chic looks to retro influences and sporty inspirations, there are endless options that offer something for everyone.

Women’s eyewear trends include:

Retro Prep

With influences from the ‘50s and ‘60s, this trend is one part sass and one part class. Cat-eyes are still on top – in extreme or relaxed, teardrop styles. Bold browline frames are must-haves for geek chic prepsters, and trendsetters will drool over new, round shapes taking center stage. Ladylike hues of tortoise, pinks, creamy neutrals and pearly finishes are fresh, while vivacious hues or pops of color are flirty.

Disco Diva

The decade ruling fashion this spring is, without a doubt, the 1970s. Disco queens will delight in the groovy eyewear options that have burst onto the scene. When it comes to sunglasses this season, bigger is better and the squoval (squared oval) is king. Luscious berry tones, tonal and marbleized effects, bedazzled details, gradient lenses and rose or amber tinted lenses are quintessential.

Urban Edge

Sporty and downtown styles collide for a look that is uber edgy and chic. Smoky gradients, bold metal accents and luxurious leathers add daring details to shields, aviators and geometric shapes. Adrenalin junkies and daredevils get their fix in mixed-media frames, fashion forward cut outs and rebellious blacks. Mirrored or blacked out lenses add panache and show off a futuristic vibe perfect for any fierce fashionista.

The latest eyewear looks for men include:

Modern Heritage

Taking cues from simpler times, eyewear this season is all about clean, classic styles from the past with a modern touch. Round frames – a la John Lennon – have emerged as a key shape for specs and sunglasses in wire or plastic. Geek chic browline and wayfarer styled frames continue to rule the streets and are more dashing than ever. Keyhole bridges also add charming detail to these dapper styles.

Street Pop

Eyewear this spring is sporty and spicy, giving men the perfect chance to pump up their style. Shields are an absolute must, as well as colored lenses that add spunk to typical guy frames. Tough metal details or matching black frames and lenses are ultra sleek and mysterious, while floating lenses take frames into the styles of tomorrow. Thick plastics, white, blue and two-toned frames keep things fun and fresh.

Globe Trotter

Worldly styles, textures and details prove to be great inspirations for men’s fashion, especially when it comes to eyewear. Frames this spring are sultry, yet earthy, with intriguing details and natural colors. Rustic wooden frames or accents and rich leathers make the look chic and effortless. Aviators command attention in both classic and updated styles, with the navigator (squared aviator) showing face as well.
