Get Revved Up for Kata’s Reverse Collection

4 Mar

Looking for frames that are on trend but will make you stand out? You’ll certainly be able to find it in Kata’s Reverse collection by Legacie.

The collection’s concept is based upon the idea of turning the hinge of a frame completely inside out. Kata achieved this by cleverly revealing the connection between titanium and acetate on an inverted hinge. The result: a slew of frames with distinct temples in delicious shapes and colors.

Incorporating key Kata design elements and the new temple concept, this collection boasts a series of frames in vintage – think P-3, wayfarer, retro round, keyhole bridge – and modern styles in hand made acetate or titanium.

These frames are perfect for anyone looking to make a statement this spring.

Envious Eyewear at the Golden Globes

17 Jan

Last night’s 68th annual Golden Globes was anything but lackluster when it came to entertainment and fashion. A-listers dazzled us in flowing gowns, dapper suits and trendy eyewear, while Ricky Gervais delivered razor sharp blows to some of Hollywood’s finest. Let’s not waste time dwelling over whether Gervais’ jokes were crass or controversial (although it made for great headlines this morning!), instead let’s breakdown the hottest eyewear looks of the evening:

Geek chic stole the show and appeared on some of our favorite leading ladies and men. Thick black frames in square shapes showed face on big winners Annette Bening, who won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for her character in The Kids Are All Right, and Paul Giamatti, who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for his role in Barney’s Version.

As usual, aviators made their mark on some of Tinseltown’s heartthrobs in classic teardrop and rectangular shapes. Gradient lenses were crucial to complete the look—P Diddy’s smoky lenses added an edgy appeal to his dashing suit and adorable bow tie.

Round, retro shapes surfaced in both specs and shades, some with tinted or blacked out lenses. Geoffrey Rush was absolutely charming in a top hat and tortoise frames, while Helena Bonham Carter, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, made a more daring choice in two-toned, round sunnies with a bold browline.

Wayfarers enjoyed time in the limelight as well. Darren Criss, known for his role as “Blaine” on Glee, rocked a pop art look in hot pink frames with gradient lenses. Mark Wahlberg, nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, went the more traditional route in sleek black wayfarers with blacked out lenses.
